Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR)

qPCR combines the amplification of small DNA sequences with their accurate quantification by fluorescence measurement. This technique provides the accurate quantification of genomic DNA samples, even in high throughput and at a relatively low cost.

Advantages of qPCR

  • Accurate (absolute) genomic DNA quantification
  • High-throughput sample analysis possible

qPCR workflow

You provide us with the DNA samples of interest, which will be analyzed with the adequate qPCR assay (probe- or SYBR Green-based) depending on your experimental question. Reference genes can be included in the assay for relative quantification. By means of a standard curve, your target gene(s) can be quantified in an absolute manner. All assays are run on a 96-well or a 384-well Roche LightCycler 480.
